Blogging To Build Your Profitable Online Business

Blogging will help you to establish your business online, increase your visibility and credibility, and give your readers an opportunity to become part of the conversation. If you are new to blogging, it is an excellent way to refine your niche and get your online business off and running, all within a few short months. Here are some suggestions for making the most of your blog to build your business and begin to make online profits.

1 - Use either Typepad or hosted WordPress for your blogging platform. If you are not a techie, Typepad will be the easiest and most inexpensive way to get started. You will also enjoy all of the features available to you with a WordPress blog.

2 - Begin writing as though you had been doing it for a year. What I mean by this is to just start right in with blog posts on your niche topic. The more you write, the more focused your writing will become.

3 - Do not be surprised if your niche changes while you are in the first few months of blogging. My niche went from teaching people to write articles and eBooks to teaching them how to use the technology necessary for their writing to make money on the internet. I found this out after I started blogging.

4 - Have an opt-in box in the upper right-hand corner of your blog. Offer people something of value, like a free report or an audio recording on your topic in exchange for their email address.

5 - List your categories where they are clearly visible to visitors. When someone comes to your blog, whether it is the first time or not, make it easy for them to find posts on the exact category they are interested in that day.

6 - Offer your products and services on your blog, but do not turn it into a sales page. Instead, provide valuable content, help, and information in each post, and offer to sell something only if it makes sense.

7 - Post at least twice each week. The more often you post, the shorter the time until the right people find you and join your list. You may want to designate certain days of the week for book reviews, answering reader's questions, and presenting brand new information on your topic. You want to give people a reason to visit your blog regularly.

8 - Let the search engines know you are posting. Every time you post, ping your post through Google, Yahoo and Technorati to let the world know what you have written about.

Use these 8 suggestions for blogging to build your online business and become profitable on the internet.
